Squats are really effective!

I did my 50 squats as per the 30-day squat challenge last night, with the following exercises in the following sequence:

  • 50 Pilates standing crunches
  • 20 squats
  • 50 Pilates standing crunches
  • 20 squats
  • 50 jumping jacks
  • 10 squats
  • 30 sit ups
  • rest 5 minutes
  • 30 sit ups

I am finally SMELLING the end of my squat challenge. not that i am happy that its finally ending though. Think I will restart the whole thing immediately after, coz I realised that squats are good for toning my bottom and my thighs 🙂 I wished I had taken a ‘before’ pic a few months ago before i started my weight loss journey.. haiz.

And as you guys know, i am not too bothered by my weight now. But decided to snap a pic and share with you guys!

I forgot to weigh yesterday haha. and today my weight went up a bit compared to 2 days ago. but still about 58 which I am ok with. Probably the massive amount of squats i’ve done over the past few days finally started the creation of some heavy muscles? OR maybe it was the Bibigo’s Spicy Chicken Stew that I had 2 days ago =_=

Oh have i told u guys that I’ve registered for my FIRST PROPER RUN??

And there’s a better piece of news – HUBBY HAS REGISTERED AS WELL! wahahaha!

But he has a lot of catching up to do though – he hasn’t exercised for…years? O_0

This is a 6km race so I am definitely NOT READY FOR IT YET. My comfortable level on the treadmill currently is still 4-5km. Running on ground will be more challenging due to the greater impact and also the varying gradients of the ground. Hope i will be able to run daily soon – Registering for a run has made me so excited – there’s something to look forward to u know? YAY. So much more motivation!

But people, i am still working towards my 10kg weight loss goal. i have lost a total of 6kg since October 2013. Although I say I am not too bothered by my weight now, I believe my shift in focus (to running and building up my fitness level) will definitely help me achieve 10kg weight loss. I am still abstaining from grains but i still go for occasional (or not so? lol) good meals with good friends and colleagues. My eyes are still on 55KG as end goal!

Paleo is such a liberating diet!

As you dear faithful readers will know, i was restricting my calories like dunno what back in September and October. My weight did go down by 5kg but it was quite miserable coz i was living in hunger and trying to get used to staying hungry.. which honestly isn’t a nice feeling. Especially dinner time, I would sometimes eat nothing at all, or just have a small bowl of soup with some pork.

I also know that eating below 800 calories isn’t good coz it puts the body into starvation mode and muscles can’t be built (coz not enuff energy to build). when muscles can’t be built, i am foregoing the opportunity of my body burning more fats while at rest. But to me, as long as i eat little, and i eat clean – it means weight loss.

Now that I’ve lost 5kg and comfortably below 60kg, and fitting into all my old clothes, i am starting on Paleo diet coz i like the idea of not having to count calories, eating anytime i like (reasonably laaa) and forgoing grains / dairy is easy peasy for me.

I am definitely eating more now. Like now…

Going Paleo is easy for me, coz i can go without rice or noodles. PHEW. And whatever i ate yesterday, it’s more than previously, but still below 1000 calories. and I was not hungry at all at any time of the day.

I am so happy with Paleo – so i hope it will give me results soon!! I’m really interested to see where this will lead me haha.

I just did a 30-minute interval workout on the elliptical during lunch just now. Couldn’t really go beyond 30 minutes coz the tough parts seriously took my breath away.. i decided not to run today coz i have a blister on my left heel (stupid new shoes). Maybe will run tomorrow after i’m back from Universal Studios.

And yes, I am on leave tomorrow and will be bringing Al to Universal Studios with hubby. We have the annual pass (inclusive of Universal Express – means we do not have to queue at all) since June this year so we gotta make full use of it! Thankfully Al loves USS and she doesn’t mind going again and again hahaha. and i don’t mind too – since it involves lots of walking i.e. burning calories! Only challenge for me at USS is, what can i eat..?

Hubby suggests Malaysian Food Street =_= there’s NOTHING I can eat there, maybe except the soft-boiled eggs (if they are still open for breakfast during lunch time)

Looks like i better prepare some Paleo snacks and bring along!
