Birthday EQUALS Feasting

Actually, just 2 lunches. But it’s already a lot to me! *dunno whether i should be happy or not haha*

My birthday falls on a Sunday, and I have chosen The Dining Room at Sheraton Towers to be the location of my birthday lunch with family.

I love the waterfall greenery view. So i called the restaurant just now to make reservations. I asked if i could have the table in front of the waterfall and yup i could. But i was warned that as it was lunchtime, sunlight may stream in. Well, i’ll see when i get there at 12pm. if its damn sunny, I’ll ask to change to another table (i’ll make sure i will be there early enough to be able to make the change)!

I am sure Al will love the waterfall ๐Ÿ™‚

The next birthday lunch will be on the next day after my birthday lunch – together with my department. My manager’s birthday falls on 25 November so we usually celebrate together and it’s gonna be at ANOTHER HOTEL..

Edge at Pan Pacific Hotel!!

It’sย a relatively newcomer in the food scene and i simply love their decor and design of those isolated cone-shaped tables!

Ha, don’t think i will start indulging ya. I will stick to salad and fresh seafood section. Won’t be touching anything cooked or mixed with oil and of cos no desserts lol. Think still worth it mah, since i’ll be eating a lot of seafood.

and yes, it will be my only meal of that day. and also, gym that night too!

Shall let loose a bit since it’s my birthday – cannot possibly be so rigid isnt it? ๐Ÿ™‚ time to enjoy!

It took quite a bit of determination for me to decide to work out today during lunch. Really wanted to go and eat something nice :S

But i am glad i still went gym in the end.

Spent 35 minutes on the cross trainer and then had a leisurely shower after that – SHIOK!

And now i want to report my weight. It was with much fear when I stepped on the weighing scale this morning – after all I had 2 pcs of wholemeal bread at about 11, a nice yong tau foo soupย at 145pmย and then a small cup of soy protein shake at 730pm and NO EXERCISE (driving lessons don’t count) – was worried that it would be too much.

Phew – down by another 100g. Haven seen myself below 62kg for a long long time!! I was stuck at 62 for like, 7 years!

It’s the weekend.. I shall persist. I am glad there will be no sumptuous breakfast tml as hubby’s working. I will prob have yong tau foo (all veg this time round!) at about 10am and then skip lunch. I gotta eat some dinner at mil’s place tml night – hope it’s ok :S

As promised, my birthday present from hubby! This comes with an evening bag as well…as shown below..

the material is oh so soft and luxurious, far softer than my Kate Spade tote – which means the rather long shoulderย straps fall all over the place haha (see above pic)ย but its ok – just a matter of getting used to. I feel that this MCM Shopper looks more stylish and modern than the Kate Spade tote. ๐Ÿ™‚

Have a happy weekend everyone!

My loot all came in today!

Hahaha so happy la. Got 2 parcels waiting for me when I got back home!

My iherb stuff first – bought 3 bottles of Sambucol, my trusty immune support supplement for family. I also bought this to try..

I then tried a bit just now at about 730pm (yes I was supposed to skip dinner but it’s just 60 calories…) and it was really smooth and yummy when mixed with iced water! U know why, the Raw Meal protein powder turns to goo when mixed with water, hence I keep having to buy rice milk to mix it which is really troublesome and rice milk I adds to the calories as well. Ha, this soy protein goes damn well with water – free and zero calories! Isn’t it better?

Sigh I still have a big container of Raw Meal =_= sitting in the storeroom.. I gotta find a way to finish it. Shall just bring to office and drink that every lunch bah, instead of wholemeal bread or muesli..

Back to this soy protein, I confirm will buy again! But I am not sure if it can keep me full? Shall update when I take the full serving.

Then the other bigger parcel..

Hubby’s birthday present for me! He got it from Reebonz ๐Ÿ™‚

The packaging is really nice!

Yay I have always wanted to get a MCM bag and I’ve gotten something in its classic cognac colour with the logo prints! Loud but I like. Haha. Will take a pic of me & the bag and post tomorrow so stay tuned ๐Ÿ˜‰

Birthday Present

I feel that beautiful skies bring about the most horrid weather :S

Taken in the car, with the construction of Bishan’s Sky Habitat in sight. clear fragmented pieces of clouds against a pure light blue sky. ๐Ÿ™‚

My manager finally came back to work today after 2 weeks of leave, and here’s my pressie from London!

I have so many hand creams I don’t have to ever buy again. I still have like 4-5 tubs of lanolin cream which I bought from Melbourne earlier this year lol!

Hubby is wondering what birthday present to get me so he was just walking around Junction 8 yesterday. He went into a jewellery shop and asked the lady for ideas. The lady suggested ‘why not get some gold jewellery to keep?”

He went “She doesn’t believe in keeping things”.

She obviously didnt hear what hubby said, cos she went on to suggest ‘or what about getting those small gold bars TO KEEP?”

but what intrigued me was hubby’s comment about me not believing in keeping things. It led me to wonder, which modern woman now behaves like auntie and keep gold jewellery in a locked drawer like my mum?

I have a super bare collection of white gold jewellery which i hardly wear. I find it troublesome to wear them everyday, and then take them out again at night. (I’m a busy mummy with 2 kids u know).ย  the only jewellery i wear, is my wedding band and my white gold diamond bracelet. and i never take them out. i wear them 24 hours.

So, which one of you still keep jewellery in locked drawers? ๐Ÿ™‚

And, what should hubby get me for my birthday?

Birthday Dinner at Din Tai Fung Bishan – Food Review

It was mad crowded as usual with long queues everywhere at Junction 8, especially DTF. I have actually called in a few weeks ago to sort of let them know that I would be having a birthday dinner here. they do not allow reservations actually but they have said that they would take note and try to let me have a table ASAP.

So I was there with mil at 630 (it was already crowded outside with many people waiting) and I managed to get in at about 650pm without joining the queue system. Well I still had to wait 20min but thankful that DTF has tried their best even though they strictly don’t take in reservations.

So.. Here are the food pics!

These are the complimentary seasonal Chuan style dumplings. Spicy like the usual ones with chilli oil, quite good but I still prefer the usual ones ๐Ÿ™‚

Tada, the usual dumplings in chilli oil which I LOVE!!

Joanne’s recommendation- prawn pancake. Really quite good – juicy, soft and addictive!

Ordered this for Al who has to eat every meal with soup..

Haha I cannot live without this la. We had the xiao Cai too, but I didn’t manage to snap a pic of that.

This is duck in crispy skin. Al likes it too.

One of the staples. Don’t the prawns look lovely?

The other staple – fried rice with pork chop. Half-eaten already heehee.

Of cos we ordered the xiao long bao x 10 and also the shrimp dumplings x 6. But I was entertaining Am so didn’t manage to snap pics. Overall the dinner was just nice for 4 adults and 1 child.

And we sang a birthday song softly amidst the diners in DTF (couldn’t get any louder cos it was just me and hubby singing.. Both grandmas didnt sing lol) and cut birthday cake for Al in the end.

Disney princess Swensons cake with 3 flavour – choc vanilla and strawberry – the kind of cake u get when u can’t make up your mind lol.

This is how it looks like inside. No I didn’t eat the cake.

It was a simple celebration with Al’s favourite people and favourite food. Yay!
