Chez Petit Salut (Marina Bay Financial Centre) – Food Review

I never knew about this restaurant that is situated right below my office on the first floor (lift lobby). It’s located along the same row as dr. CAFE COFFEE, somewhere in the middle. The signboard is small and reflective, as you can see. If not for my colleagues, I never would have known that this restaurant even exists!

We were seated right at the back of the restaurant. The staff promptly cleared the 4th set of cutley (it was just 3 of us) and set the decoration pieces nicely in front of me :) how’s that for ensuring the most perfect ambience?

Their set lunch menu – there are plenty of choices (half of which you need to top up an extra amount of money). 3 courses for $39++ – quite an expensive set lunch!

It’s a very small restaurant, but coz it has a high ceiling, the noise level wasn’t too bad. Can u see me? ;)

Their warm water (which was really very warm – GOOD) – I used to make lattes with this kind of glasses!

This was my appetiser – sauteed wild mushrooms with spinach – very good – loved the crunchy spinach leaves and pine nuts :)

Hui Mee’s half-dozen escargots in garlic butter. Every bit of the garlic butter gravy was gone, coz Hui Mee dipped her bread roll in it. I did it when i was at Les Bouchons (Club Street) as well – sinful but unforgettable!

My main course – chicken breast with french beans – i tell u, the chicken breast tasted so magically un-breast! So tender and juicy and melt-in-mouth soft!

Which filter do u like? haha. Their french beans are also very good leh – very fresh, tender and crunchy. YUM.

The main course portion isn’t fantastic, but every bite was awesome. Well done Petit Salut!

Hui Mee’s dessert – chocolate cake with coffee ice cream. Looks good eh?

My manager and I had this same dessert – fruit salad with passionfruit sorbet. Dunno how they make this simple dessert – it was another winner. Absolutely best ending to the lunch.

It was a great lunch – although I wasn’t really stuffed to the brim, the quality and taste of the food plus fantastic service was sufficient to warrant a high rating from us. Their servers were polite, professional and spoke very well. When the bread rolls were out late, the server came to us right away to inform us that we had to wait a while. And our warm water was topped up very promptly twice.
